Director’s Report
Are we still keeping up with the “Ides of March”? The Romans used this date as the deadline for settling debts. If you haven’t paid your debts, you still have time…remember what happened to Julius Caesar!
The website is almost done! Ryan Kreipe has done a wonderful job creating a site that is easy to use and is informative.Remember:
www.braesinterfaithministries.org
My e-mail address has changed. It is now emontez@braesinterfaithministries.org
Sissy Contreras’ new e-mail address is scontreras@braesinterfaithministries.org
We are very proud of the website. Thank you, Ryan, for your hard work and dedication to this project.
The Houston Food Bank sent an e-mail to all participating agencies updating us on post-Harvey services. They were having difficulty with their inventory accuracy, on-time delivery windows, and communication. The HFB will be conducting inventory on all three of their warehouses from March 23 to March 31 to reset inventory and confirm inventory quantities on hand. Staff has been added to focus on order accuracy and increase efficiency. The dispatch schedule has been adjusted to meet the delivery windows and drivers have been instructed to call ahead. In order to communicate better, the HFB has implementing a process to inform agencies in a timelier manner of any issues with their order. They are also looking at various technologies to support effective communication (ex. Monthly reports, agency announcements, hotline.
It appears that the HFB will resume agency pick-ups starting early summer. Braes Interfaith Ministries will once again rely on our drivers to pick up the food order. Braes will once again ask the Mormon Elders to help unload the order. More on this when the HFB confirms the pick-ups.
The Volunteer In-Service will take place on April 5 at Braes Interfaith Ministries. This mandatory in-service has been scheduled from 10 AM until 12 Noon. The revised Policy & Procedures and an updated Information and Referral book will be handed out. All attendees will be required to sign a confidentiality form. Lunch will be provided.
