How We Help The Community
Community members seeking help at Braes Interfaith Ministries are struggling under a wide range of overwhelming circumstances to meet the most basic human needs of food, clothing, and shelter. These community members include, but are not limited to, the elderly, the mentally and physically challenged, the chronically under or unemployed, the homeless, the newly unemployed, TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families – commonly referred to as welfare) recipients, school children, those effected by chronic and or catastrophic illnesses, work-injured persons, and the working poor. Services are provided to families and individuals at no charge. Homeless persons, most without income, are also regular clients of Braes Interfaith Ministries and are offered assistance every two weeks.
Emergency Financial Crisis
The target population for our services includes all individuals who reside in this area and are experiencing an emergency financial crisis. Some in this population find themselves in near homeless situations that are generally overlooked by assisting agencies and federal/state/city-subsidized programs. One emergency may deplete a family of any saved resources and leave them without funds to pay monthly living expenses such as food, rent, and utility bills.
Emergency Or Other Crisis
While less frequently seen, individuals of moderate income have become Braes Interfaith Ministries’ clients due to poor money management, company closings, and/or family emergency or other crisis. Braes Interfaith Ministries’ assistance programs are designed, in part, to assist those whose income is inadequate or non-existent due to an unexpected expense or situation.
